Before Your Training
A Little Prep Goes A Long Way
-
Get Your Bar Ready
Your espresso machine must be:
- Fully installed
- Connected to water and power
- Operational
Turned on and fully heated before the scheduled training time
Your grinder and other training equipment should also be set up and ready to use.
Training time is for training — not equipment installation, setup, or waiting for a cold espresso machine to warm up.
- Fully installed
-
Stock What Your Team Actually Uses
Please have the products and tools your team normally works with available, including things like:
Espresso • dairy milk • alternative milks • cups • syrups and sauces • pitchers • tampers • scales • cleaning products • brew supplies • thermometer
I want your team practicing with the same equipment and ingredients they’ll be using after I leave.
-
Make Room For Training
Barista Basics is hands-on, so the bar needs to be clean, accessible, and available to the training group.
Whenever possible, the café or coffee bar should be closed to customers during training so the team can participate without constant interruptions.
Please also make sure everyone attending is ready to begin at the scheduled start time.
-
Confirm Your Team
Final trainee headcount is due 10 days before training.
Additional trainees after that point are subject to approval and additional fees.
If your team size changes, please let me know as soon as possible.
-
Equipment Readiness
Barista Basics requires functioning, fully heated café equipment.
If required equipment is not operational or ready at the scheduled start time, training may need to be modified or delayed.
Time lost due to equipment setup, installation, troubleshooting, or warm-up is considered part of the scheduled four-hour training time.
-
CANCELLATIONS + RESCHEDULING
A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your training date.
The remaining balance is due 10 days before training.
Cancellations made more than 10 days before training will be refunded less the $250 deposit.
One reschedule is permitted with at least 10 days’ notice.
Late cancellations, rescheduling requests, or major headcount changes may affect refund eligibility and are handled on a case-by-case basis.
