Coffee Training That Actually Makes Sense

Coffee can get complicated really quickly. Training your team doesn’t have to.

You don’t need a million gadgets or a chemistry degree to make really good coffee. You need to understand your equipment, know what you’re looking for and build good habits behind the bar.

My training is hands-on, practical and built around what actually happens during a shift. We’ll pull shots, steam milk, troubleshoot problems, clean equipment and figure out how your team can work better together when there are ten drinks on the rail.

And making good coffee is only part of being a good barista. We’ll talk about bar safety, kitchen calls and communication, keeping your equipment and workspace clean, handling mistakes, dealing with an unhappy customer and knowing when it’s better to stop and remake the drink.

No coffee snobbery. No unnecessary equipment. No expecting your baristas to memorize a textbook. Just really good fundamentals, plenty of practice and the confidence to know what to do when something isn’t quite right.

Good coffee is a skill. Let’s teach it that way.

4 Hour Hands On Training

Barista Basics

Barista Basics is my foundational coffee training built for real café teams, on their own equipment, in their own space.

Over four hours, we’ll work through the full barista experience — getting comfortable with the equipment, brewing, dialing in espresso, steaming milk, building drinks, cleaning, workflow, communication and troubleshooting when things don’t go quite as planned.

This isn’t four hours of me talking at your team. We’re getting behind the bar. Everyone gets the chance to practice, ask questions, make mistakes, taste what they’re making and understand why something worked — or why it absolutely did not.

It’s great for brand-new baristas, mixed-experience teams, cafés that need a reset, or owners who are tired of five different baristas making the same latte five different ways.

Ongoing Barista Portal Access

Training doesn’t end when I leave the café. Your team gets access to the Coffee Coach Barista Portal, where they can come back to training resources, refreshers and quick-reference tools whenever they need them.

Forgot something three weeks later? That’s literally what it’s there for.

The goal? Everyone leaves with the same foundation, better habits and more confidence behind the bar.
